Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has been teased by teammates Tommy Elphick and Tyrone Mings on Twitter after the midfielder’s stunning strike against Derby County.

The Villa favourite scored a goal of the season contender in their 4-0 win over the Rams, hitting a perfectly struck volley from a corner from the edge of the box into the corner of the goal.

After posting a slow motion video of the goal on his Twitter account, Grealish was teased by Elphick, who looked as though he was going to try and get his head on the strike, and Mings, who joked about how much space he had found himself in.

Opinion

It is fair to say that there is definitely an air of positivity back around Villa Park and it just goes to show what one sensational strike can do for a team. Joking aside, the performance and result against Derby were exactly what Villa needed after their hit and miss season and it should come as no surprise to see that their display was taken to another level with Grealish returning to the side. He ran the show and pulled the strings which led his teammates to victory. Instead of teasing him, maybe the likes of Mings and Elphick should be on the floor kissing his right boot. On the other hand, they cannot allow the youngster to get too big for his boots despite his sensational goal. Any which way, it is good to see that there is a positive energy around the dressing room and while they say one man does not make a team, Grealish’s presence certainly does not do the Villans any harm at all.
