Rangers may have resigned themselves to just a point against Kilmarnock on Saturday, but that certainly does not stem away from the fact that it was a match where one player shone brightly.

Steven Davis has not enjoyed the best of times since arriving on loan from Southampton in January. The previous games he has played this season have not showcased him at his greatest, and since then he has been overlooked by the manager for the likes of Ryan Jack. However, that was not the case on Saturday.

Alfredo Morelos may have to had to rescue the team to ensure of a 1-1 draw, but there is without a shadow of a doubt that Davis looked completely transformed. There were no signs of the player that has produced horror shows recently, and this will have caused a bit of a selection headache for Gerrard.

The veteran midfielder looked a lot sharper than he usually is, and it is safe to say that he showed us glimpses of what he is made of. Yes, he faded at times, but on the whole, this display was really encouraging. Perhaps Davis will not return to the South Coast on a downer after all.

However, he did wait a while to unleash this type of performance. It has been almost three months since he signed, but he waits until now to impress everyone. Better late than never, as they say.

Either way, many fans will have their fingers crossed that he can maintain this high standard now. There is no point in pulling one good performance out of the bag, then completely ruining it the next time. Here is hoping, anyway.

Davis did look transformed though, and it is safe to say he turned a few heads in the meantime.
