OPINION
Apparently, Swansea City didn’t get the memo about Manchester City coasting their way to yet another FA Cup semi-final. The Swans did everything they could to disrupt Pep Guardiola’s side, and in the end, they came pretty close to causing a real upset against the champions on Saturday evening, and largely, that was done to a fairly lacklustre all round performance from Manchester City. In the end, it was a moment of magic that catalysed City’s comeback, and the man to provide it was, of course, none other than Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese man was the only bright spark in a terrible first half display from City, and it was little surprise that it was his thunderous, curling strike that dragged his team back into contention. The midfielder has slowly, but steadily, established himself as the main man in the centre of the park for City, and it is no real shock when he is the one pulling the strings ahead of Kevin de Bruyne or David Silva. His vision and ease in possession is a joy to watch, and it’s refreshing to see him knuckle down and lead his colleagues by example when the going gets tough. Without him, City would have had to its goodbye to their quadruple dreams.
