Billy Sharp had to intervene as Leeds United star Pablo Hernandez raged at gloating Dean Henderson in bust-up in the aftermath of Saturday’s defeat to Sheffield United, according to Leeds Live.

The Reach site claim the Blades goalkeeper Henderson was the subject to a verbal onslaught from the Elland Road faithful throughout the match and, following the final whistle, “took his chance to celebrate and gloat emphatically in front of the home fans”.

Leeds Live report that raging Hernandez was pictured “pointing his finger” at Henderson, who had to be led away by teammate Sharp before things got too ugly.

OPINION

Hernandez was as angry as Leeds fans have ever seen him following the deeply disappointing Yorkshire derby defeat, that delivered a wrecking ball to the home side’s hopes of a top-two finish. The Spaniard was also seen raging at teammate Ezgjan Aloski, who took it upon himself to take a stoppage-time corner and then wasted the golden opportunity to put pressure on the visitors by overhitting it. With dead-ball experts Hernandez and Barry Douglas in the Leeds ranks, Whites were mystified that Alioski took the corner. That said, plenty lost in late on in what was a febrile atmosphere at Elland. Chris Wilder shoved a camera man’s lense away from him and players from both sides were highly emotional. Leeds fans won’t be too fussed at Hernandez rowing with Henderson after he gave it the big one, or delivering some home truths to Alioski. They will see it as passion overspilling, in what was out-of-character behaviour.
