Bristol City know where the Leeds threat will be coming from ahead of the crunch Championship clash at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

Striker Jamie Paterson was talking in the pre-match press conference today, as reported by BristolLive, and he was asked who the best player in the Championship is, Jack Grealish or Pablo Hernandez.

“It’s a hard one, really,” said Paterson. “It’s tough question, I can’t think off the top of my head. It’s difficult when you’re playing in the game, when you’re in the zone, you don’t notice stuff but I know Jack Grealish, when he’s on song and on form he’s definitely up there.

“Whenever I’ve played against him [Pablo Hernandez], he’s always been bright technical and can get on the ball. Obviously, that’s how I would put my game so he’s very good at it and is in a Leeds team that’s doing really well at the moment and I’m sure he’s enjoying his football and is definitely up there in terms of the best players.”

OPINION

If Hernandez wasn’t on the radar after a sensational season for Leeds, he put himself there with a stunning strike after just 16 seconds of the 4-0 win against West Brom. On his current form, ignoring the two players’ ages, we’d definitely take Hernandez. He’s scored eight goals and made 11 in the Championship this season. Villa’s Grealish has only scored three and created four. With the money that Aston Villa were reportedly wanting for Grealish in the summer, it makes Hernandez – picked up on a free – a huge bargain for Leeds. If he’s on top form again then we can only see the points going the way of the visitors on Saturday. It’s another mouth-watering clash at the top of the table though, with Bristol City currently clinging onto the play-off spots in sixth, and Leeds riding high in second. Neither team can afford to lose the game and the atmosphere should be electric.
