OPINION
Leeds left-back Ezgjan Alioski was named in the EFL’s Team of the Week after his brilliant display, capped with a goal, against West Brom on Friday. Leeds fans were understandably delighted, but we can’t even begin to understand how he was the only one of the 11 to be picked out. Where was Tyler Roberts? Arguably Leeds’ best player on the night. Irrespective, Alisoki deserved his spot for a rampaging display that has got the Leeds fans firmly behind him, with many incredulous at how much running he did during the game. He’s been employed at the back and on the wing this season, and is currently being preferred to Barry Douglas, who is being kept on the bench by Marcelo Bielsa. The next big question for Alioski and teammates is whether they can maintain that sort of form in a patch that’s seen them slide from the brilliant (Swansea, West Brom) to the abject (QPR). Their next test is a tough one – away at Bristol City on Saturday.
