COMMENTARY
It might have been victory for Celtic in their Scottish Cup clash against Hibernian but it was not all smooth sailing for the Hoops and plenty of that came down to the poor performance of Parkhead mainstay Mikael Lustig. The fans were left slamming the experienced defender for his efforts at both ends of the pitch, some criticising how much space he was leaving the Hibs forward line while others were not best pleased with how much he supporters his own side’s attack. When you have energy and flair of Kieran Tierney on the other flank it highlights just how much Lustig is lacking and it is no wonder the fans were fuming with his display in victory. Jeremy Toljan has been the preferred option since his arrival in January and while the Borussia Dortmund loanee has not been pulling up any trees while in Glasgow, he certainly looks like he has more in his locker than his teammate.
This is Futbol has gathered a selection of the supporters’ tweets:
Lustig wasteful again. Lennon going back to the old pals act.

Struggling to believe that Lustig and Bitton are better options than Toljan and Henderson.

I feel Lustig has been a great servant to us but he shows nothing in the way going forward when he plays we have nothing going up the right wing also feel Burke and Edward really need to work on their first touch ball keeps bouncing off them and going 4:5 yards in front HH????

The gaps Lustig is leaving is scary. If Neil is taking over that clown will get a new deal I bet.

Get Lustig off before he cost us. Great servant but Toljan better than that. Sinclair could be hooked too.

Why is Lustig playing if Lennon used to identify him as the weak link in the Celtic team
