Marvin Compper scored? From a corner? It’s baffled many Celtic fans, and understandably so because nobody thought that the 33-year-old defender had anything in him to even play at reserves level, let alone the Hoops’ first team. Compper has made one senior appearance since joining from Celtic in January 2018, and has been playing for the reserves side in recent weeks. He started against Hearts’ youth side at Cappielow on Monday and somehow managed to get himself on the scoresheet and supply an assist in a 3-2 win. It was a real shock to see Compper’s name on the scoresheet and you can see why so many supporters have reacted in the same way. Not only was Compper scoring a shock, but also getting a goal from a corner, something which the first team cannot see to be able to do. Maybe Armstrong Oko-Flex, who set up Compper’s goal, needs a call-up from Neil Lennon to take over set-piece duty.
