Marcelo Bielsa will surely be thrilled to know that Bristol City are facing a goalkeeper injury crisis ahead of their clash against Leeds United on Saturday.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Frank Fielding will miss the game through injury while the Robins’ number one Niki Maenpaa is set to undergo scans on an injury he suffered against Preston last week.

If Maenpaa was ruled out of the clash against Leeds at Ashton Gate on Saturday, then it will be a massive boost for the Yorkshire giants.

Bristol City have one of the best defensive records in the Championship this season.

Only Sheffield United and Middlesbrough have conceded less goals than Lee Johnson’s men, who currently sit sixth in the league table.

So for them to be without their two senior goalkeepers will be a shattering blow to their hopes of beating Leeds.

It is understood that Max O’Leary and Jojo Wollacott could be used by Johnson against the Whites, but after Bielsa saw his men obliterate the West Brom defence last week, what chance do O’Leary and Wollacott have?

Patrick Bamford, Pablo Hernandez, Tyler Roberts and co made short work of a West Brom defence containing Sam Johnstone, Craig Dawson and Ahmed Hegazi, so the Robins are more than likely going to concede a few this weekend against the Whites if they are to be without Maenpaa.

Automatic promotion is currently in Leeds’ hands so picking up maximum points and making the most of chances like this will be crucial.

Although Bielsa won’t even admit it, he will surely be happy to see this news coming from the south west.
