Leeds are interested in PSV Eindhoven’s attacking midfielder Justin Lonwijk, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb

They claim that Bielsa has taken a personal interest in the 19-year-old who is currently playing for PSV’s Under-21 side.

It adds that PSV are keen to extend his contract, which expires in the summer, but plenty of other clubs want to prise him away.

A report from Eindhovens Dagblad called him one of the “huge talents” of PSV and said that any foreign club taking him on would have to pay a £340,000 training fee for him.

Eintracht Frankfurt has made the first move, contacting PSV, and Roma are also making preliminary enquiries about the player who can play in the number 10 spot Leeds are so keen to fill.

OPINION

So many football fans these days want marquee signings, with high price tags the sign of quality. Leeds are looking to land in the Premier League and do things differently. They’re quietly building up a team of fearsome youngsters, with a holistic approach to the first-team and the Under-23s set-up. It could work wonders for them, especially if they can keep hold of players like Jack Clarke. Mateusz Bogusz is another youngster we’re expecting big things from in the near future and Leeds are still working behind the scenes to bring in more players this summer. Lonwijk is pretty much unknown outside of the Netherlands, where he’s still waiting to make his first-team debut for PSV. However, he’s highly rated there and the calibre of clubs after him suggest that he’s the real deal. What’s different about this report is that Bielsa has been name-checked, which suggests that he’s a player Leeds are looking at for the first-team.
