OPINION
Petr Cech was one of only a couple of Arsenal players who did not have complete shockers in the 3-1 defeat to Rennes on Thursday night. It was an awful result for the Gunners, who look as though they could crash out of the Europa League after a shock defeat in France. However if it wasn’t for Cech, it could have been a lot worse for Unai Emery’s men as the ex-Chelsea goalkeeper made a number of saves to keep Rennes at bay. Cech got a heroes welcome from the Rennes supporters as he returned to Brittany, and it seems like he was the only player on the pitch who was well received by both sets of fans. Many Arsenal fans on Twitter were left drooling over the Czech ‘keeper for his display on Thursday and who can blame them? He was superb at times and was without doubt Arsenal’s best player.

Cech by far our best player tonight, scoreline could've been even worse without him. Felt sorry for Iwobi, out performed our other attacking options but first one to be replaced, not bringing on AMN at right back was a strange decision for me too
