Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker has predicted that Celtic will win 1-0 against Aberdeen at Parkhead on Saturday afternoon.

Neil Lennon will take charge of the Hoops for the first time in Glasgow since replacing Brendan Rodgers at the helm.

Walker reckons that it will be a victorious return for Lennon, and he has also picked rarely-seen midfielder Nir Bitton to be Celtic’s key player in the game against the Dons.

“Out of the side for so long under Brendan Rodgers, the Israeli has made a welcome return to a side now under the guidance of Neil Lennon,” Walker said about Bitton on the Sky Sports website.

OPINION

It is a bit weird that Lennon believes Bitton will be Celtic’s key player in this fixture. The Israel international has only made seven starts in all competitions this season due to injury and he has only started the last two Scottish Premiership games. He has played well in those appearances, especially when you consider the fact that he has been out of action for so long and has returned to fitness with a change of management. It’s a big game for Celtic against Aberdeen. Lennon has done well on his return to Celtic Park so far, but this game will be the hardest of the bunch so far. Derek McInnes’ side are not in the best of form though. They drew with Rangers last week and were beaten at Pittodrie by relegation-threatened Hamilton the game before that. Celtic should win, but as Walker predicts, it will be a close game.
