Chris Wilder has hailed West Brom boss Darren Moore for showing his class after Sheffield United won 1-0 at The Hawthorns on Saturday night.

After the full-time whistle blew on a major promotion blow for the Baggies, Moore stayed pitch-side and shook hands with every single Blades player as they made their way to the tunnel.

Wilder, speaking in his post-match interview, was happy to see Moore’s sportsmanship despite the Baggies losing such a crucial game against their promotion rivals.

“They’re a good team and Moore showed a touch of class there as well waiting for all our players and shaking their hands,” said Wilder, as shown by Sky Sports Main Event’s live post-match coverage on Saturday [07:39pm].

“That talks volumes about what he’s all about and what they’re staff are about.”

OPINION

Moore is a nice bloke and he probably does this in every match he has taken charge in. It says a lot about the West Brom boss but surely fans would like to see a bit of a mean side from their former defender. During his playing days Moore was a brute of a defender but since becoming Albion manager he has rarely ever shown any sign of anger or losing his temper. West Brom fans were definitely getting angry and losing their temper at what was an awful performance by their players on Saturday. Sheffield United bossed the game at The Hawthorns and Albion have now left themselves with a massive job to do to stay in the race for automatic promotion. Moore needs to fix his side’s form at home because they have not won a Championship game at The Hawthorns since Boxing Day. Teams cannot expect to get promoted if they are not winning in front of their own fans.
