OPINION
Gareth Barry celebrated his 38th birthday on the day of West Brom’s 1-0 loss against Sheffield United at The Hawthorns on Saturday night, but he did not cap off his day with a good performance in the Championship showdown. Barry was woeful both on and off the ball, looking as though he was running through mud when the Blades had the ball and attacked Albion. In the first-half, the ex-Aston Villa midfielder went missing in action as Chris Wilder’s men charged up the pitch and scored through Kieran Dowell. Understandably, a section of West Brom fans have ripped into Barry on Twitter. He has been impressive for them this season, despite his age, but Darren Moore really should have taken Barry off at half-time when it was clear that he was not in the game at all. Sam Field played well against QPR on Tuesday night, maybe Moore needs to show more faith in the youngster?

Another soft goal given away at home. Sheffield United are coasting this. Sitting back and soaking up the place and every so often launching counter attacks. Our play too predictable that half. Front 3 not in game at all. Midfield over run. Barry struggling with pace #WBA
