COMMENTARY
He might have scored a scruffy equaliser but that has done nothing to stop the West Brom fans from annihilating the performance of Jacob Murphy against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday evening. Signed from Newcastle United on loan over the January window he was meant to be a replacement for Harvey Barnes after he returned to Leicester City but it does not seem the Baggies faithful feel he is anywhere near the level of their former favourite. Quite frankly they are absolutely right. Whereas Barnes was able to make things happen in the blink of an eye, Murphy was lacking any sort of cutting edge, his crosses from out wide – when he actually beat his man down the wing – missed his teammates time and again. It was not a performance worthy of a side chasing an automatic promotion spot and the only positive to take away is that his goal, even if it was a poked effort from close ranger after the ball bounced around the box, should give him some much needed confidence.

Garbage. Nothing on the bench to affect the game. I don't understand the lack of tempo. Murphy is woeful.

Murphy don't seem arsed. Either lacking confidence or just a terrible footballer. #WBA
