Mark Warburton has suggested that Ibrox badboy Alfredo Morelos could leave Rangers in the near future.

Morelos, 22, has been in stunning form for the Light Blues this season, scoring 22 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions.

However he has also been grabbing headlines for the wrong reasons this term as he topped off what could have been a man of the match display against Aberdeen on Wednesday night by getting sent off.

Former Rangers manager Warburton believes that there is a chance that all players at Ibrox are up for grabs, but if Morelos goes, then it will have to satisfy the club first.

“Every player is for sale. So If Alfredo leaves Rangers, he leaves on their terms,” said Warburton, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“They have a goalscoring asset right now. So maximise him while he is here then maximise the asset when he is sold.”

OPINION

It is a bit of an obvious point. Every player in the world can be bought – even Lionel Messi has a release clause at Barcelona. There will come a point when Rangers are offered a sum of money for Morelos that they cannot turn down. Morelos showed at Pittodrie on Wednesday what he is all about. He scored two good goals – his second being of immense quality – yet he still managed to show his petulance by stamping on Scott McKenna while he was on the ground to get himself sent off. If that was a one-off then fair enough, but Morelos has been shown four red cards now this term and while one of them was rescinded, he keeps getting himself into these avoidable situations. According to Football Insider, Morelos earns £30,000-a-week at Ibrox. It will get to a point where Steven Gerrard won’t want to be paying someone so much money only for them to be unavailable due to avoidable red cards.
