Tottenham must swoop to sign Fiorentina attacker Federico Chiesa in the summer transfer window after it was reported that the Italy international would be available for £61.3million.

According to Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato, Juventus, Napoli, Inter Milan and clubs across Europe want to sign the 21-year-old attacker, who is widely seen as one of the most promising young players in Serie A.

Chiesa has been in sensational form for Fiorentina this season, scoring 10 goals and supplying seven assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, and for £61.3million, he would be a record signing for Spurs if they did sign him, but he would also be a bargain.

The dazzling right winger has the ability and potential to become one of the best players in world football if he continues to play regularly and makes the step up to a top team within the next year or so.

Tottenham might already have some decent right-sided wingers in their side, but none are as good as Chiesa and just imagine if Mauricio Pochettino was able to name a front-three of Heung-min Son, Harry Kane and Chiesa – it could be the best in the Premier League.

Not even Liverpool’s trident of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah would be able to compete with that, especially when you consider Son’s form, how good Kane is and the seeming limitless potential of Chiesa.

Daniel Levy would surely have reservations about spending over £60million on a player, but surely he would be willing to break the bank on someone who could turn Spurs from nearly-men into perennial winners.

If Spurs sign Chiesa then the new stadium will need a bigger trophy cabinet, because he is the type of players who could lead this club to glory.
