Graham Potter needs to stop playing Declan John as soon as possible because the left-back is nowhere near good enough for the Championship. The Wales international had an absolute stinker in the Swans’ 3-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and he was pretty much completely at fault for one of the Owls’ goals. So without great surprise, many Swans fans have taken to Twitter to absolutely annihilate the ex-Rangers full-back, who probably should have been left in Scotland. John simply cannot defend. He is fine going forward and as shown at Ibrox last term, he has a knack of getting into the opponents box and causing a bit of trouble. However there is a difference between the Scottish Premiership and the Championship, the main difference being the number of quality opposition that you need to defend against. John cannot defend and there is a reason why he has only played nine times this season – he is not good enough.
