Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino left Manchester United on crutches after the two sides played out a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford on Sunday, according to journalist Simon Peach.
The reliable Press Association reporter claims on his personal Twitter account that the Brazilian star, who was forced off just after the half hour mark to be replaced by Daniel Sturridge, departed the Reds’ north west rivals on crutches in a worrying injury update for Jurgen Klopp.

Firmino appeared to roll his ankle before being brought off, although he jogged off with ease when replaced by Sturridge.
Opinion
Seriously worrying news for Klopp and his men on what was a day full of injury problems for both sides at Old Trafford. The way Firmino rolled his ankle suggests a nasty sprain but it could be a lot more serious than that, with a potential for ligament damage. The crutches are without a doubt a precaution, with it impossible to tell just how much damage he has done just yet, and there will be tests carried out over the coming days to determine the severity of his setback. Still, it is a worrying sight for the Liverpool faithful and there will be fears over how his potential absence will hurt their title chances. Klopp’s men lacked a cutting edge against Manchester United that has been there nearly every game this season and Firmino’s early withdrawal will not have helped their cause. Sturridge and Divock Origi have been hit and miss in their performances this season and neither have the same proven ability as their Brazilian teammate to make a difference. The hops will be that neither will need to fill the void, but only time will tell.
