OPINION
Rangers’ 4-2 win over Aberdeen had everything last night. Six goals, two penalties, and two red cards – it’s easy to see why the Gers’ players might have been just a little bit jubilant after having won such a dramatic contest. According to Sky Sports News journalist Sahil Jaidka, as posted on his personal Twitter account, that jubilation got a little bit raucous, Steven Gerrard’s side blasting music and singing loudly in the dressing room, leading to Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes asking their visitors to quieten down a little. Many Rangers fans have taken to social media to ridicule his request, and it really is a bit of grey area. On the one hand, Rangers have just won a potentially vital victory over one of Scotland’s top sides and are bound to be up for a bit of a celebration. McInnes must surely understand that, and to some extent, must have been prepared for it. On the other hand, you could argue that the Gers should have been a little more respectful of their hosts, and maybe taken into consideration their proximity when cranking up the tunes. On balance, however, you can’t help feeling that McInnes might have overreacted a little, and that he should have just taken the defeat in better spirit.
