Kilmarnock have successfully overturned the red card for their goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann during the 5-0 Scottish Cup hammering, and Rangers fans are raging. He was sent off after appearing to elbow Glen Kamara as Rangers prepared to take a corner. The official TV footage of the game appeared inconclusive, but another angle posted by a fan seemed to show the offence clearly.

So clearly in fact that BBC Sportsound pundit Tam McManus said “You can’t do that” and admitted the officials had got the decision spot on. After he heard the red card had been rescinded he tweeted again saying, “Literally nothing surprises me anymore.”

The decision hasn’t come as a surprise to Rangers fans either, and it’s the latest in a long line of controversial decisions by the SFA that has seen them criticised by a  number of Premiership teams. After seeing the footage from the video tweeted by McManus it’s hard not to have sympathy for the Rangers fans. It does seem pretty clear and would surely have been a red card anywhere in the world.

One thing is certain – this isn’t going to quell the arguments raging about how competent the Scottish authorities are and whether big changes is needed.

Here are the best reactions from angry Rangers fans:
