COMMENTARY

It is usually Alfredo Morelos on the score sheet for Rangers and while he might not have found himself netting against St Mirren in the first half the Ibrox faithful were still pretty happy with his performance. Yes, he might have looked like getting on the wrong side of the officials but that is what makes him such an exciting talent for the Gers faithful to watch and a nightmare for the opposition. Playing up front with Jermain Defoe seemed to bring the best out of him on the wing and it was his play which helped lead to the opening goal from James Tavernier. There would no doubt have been question marks over how the striking duo would perform up top together and after struggling to get on the same wavelength in their first start they seem to have found the necessary understanding with each other. It is still early days and they will be working hard on the training ground to become the perfect forward pairing but the early signs are promising – so long as the Colombian can stay on the pitch.
