Former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is likely going to try and tempt long serving coaching pair John Kennedy and Stevie Woods to Leicester City in the summer, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claim that after the Northern Irish boss took Chris Davies, Kolo Toure and Glen Driscoll to Leicester City with him after being appointed manager of the Foxes, he looks set to return to try and take current assistant manager Kennedy and goalkeeping coach Woods with him come the end of the season.

Both have been at Celtic Park for some time, Woods since 2007 and Kennedy back in 2009 following his retirement from playing football.

Opinion

Rodgers obviously had a trusted team during his two and a half year spell at Parkhead and it seems as though he wants to keep the band together – even if it means waiting until the end of the season to bring the last two pieces of the puzzle down to England. Kennedy has plenty of experience and having been promoted to assistant manager under Neil Lennon, he might not want to return to being a first team coach at Leicester City. This second half of the season is going to be absolutely massive for his future as someone in the dugout. Success with Lennon could see him remain in a senior role at Parkhead and even get the chance to take on a managerial role in the future. Moving to the King Power Stadium could see him remain in the shadow of his boss and if he holds ambitions of making a name for himself in the game then perhaps this is the best time to part ways with Rodgers.
