Alan Brazil was so jubilant during his verdict on the importance of Celtic’s win against Kilmarnock on Sunday that he even started to sing.

The talkSPORT host shared that he caught the highlights of the Hoops’ 1-0 win and as a result of the victory believed that the race for the league title was now over.

“I caught the highlights and it was bad challenge on him (Brown) by the way,” said Brazil on talkSPORT (Monday February 18th, 6:59am)

“Dare I say it? I think it’s over (the title race), I think it’s over.”

Brazil then pipped up about Celtic’s win against Kilmarnock a bit later in his talkSPORT show and started singing Roy Orbison’s ‘It’s Over’, before remarking on Kirk Broadfoot’s foul on Scott Brown.

“It’s over, in the words of Roy Orbison ‘It’s over’,” sung the talkSPORT host (8:47am).

“It looked a little bit nasty and there was a red card as well as that was nasty.”

OPINION

While Brazil was clearly in a joyous mood talking about Celtic’s win over Killie, he still took time to share that he thought Broadfoot deserved his red card for lunging in on Brown. The talkSPORT host remarked on that flashpoint in the game on two occasions, which shows it didn’t sit well with him. It’s no surprise that Brazil thought Broadfoot’s was worth mentioning multiple times as by all accounts it did look like a bad challenge. However it is worth noting that referee Bobby Madden made the correct decision very quickly as he didn’t hesitant showing the Kilmarnock defender a red card. While Madden did arguably make a mistake, not by the letter of the law, though by sending off Brown for celebrating with the crowd later in the game, the referee does deserve for praise for the way he handled what was a fiery clash by all accounts. While Rangers fans won’t appreciate it, Brazil may be on the money when claiming the title race is all but officially over as Celtic do appear to have done it again.
