Steven Gerrard is predicted to make seven changes to his starting line-up ahead of Rangers’ Scottish Cup fifth round clash against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Saturday evening.

As it stands, Alfredo Morelos is set to miss the game due the red card he received against Aberdeen on Wednesday night, meaning that Jermain Defoe could come in to start up front.

Allan McGregor, Joe Worrall, Borna Barisic, Ross McCrorie, Scott Arfield and Ryan Kent could all be dropped from the win at Pittodrie with Gerrard rotating his side for most of the Gers’ cup games this season.

That means that rarely-seen goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, who has made just five total appearances this term, could return to the starting line-up behind a back-four of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and Andy Halliday. Worrall, 22, has played a lot of football lately so could be axed.

Lassana Coulibaly and Steven Davis could come into the midfield to play alongside Scott Arfield, who did not complete 90 minutes against Aberdeen on Wednesday, perhaps due to Gerrard trying to keep him fresh for this encounter in Ayrshire.

Kyle Lafferty, Daniel Candeias and Defoe are predicted to make up the three-man attack, but Rangers have appealed against Morelos’ red card and the Scottish FA could decide to over-turn Bobby Madden’s decision, making the Colombian available for this game.
