OPINION
Aberdeen have really made themselves look a bit stupid here. Rangers defender Connor Goldson has revealed that the Dons put pictures on the wall of them celebrating their win against the Glaswegians in the Scottish League Cup semi-final earlier this season when the two sides met at Pittodrie in the league on Wednesday. Obviously the behind-the-scenes ploy failed to work and now Goldson has made this public, which has really got some Rangers fans talking on Twitter. There has always been a bit of rivalry between Aberdeen and Rangers, but it has really stepped up a notch in the last couple of years. Is it because of Derek McInnes turning down the manager’s job at Ibrox, or is just the fact that the Dons have finished about the Gers in the last two seasons? Alfredo Morelos has hardly calmed the fixture down by getting sent off against Aberdeen three times this season and this weird use of pictures from a semi-final win only raised emotions – in Rangers’ favour. No wonder Gers fans are finding this attempt to demotivate the players “pathetic”.
??CG: They celebrated massively after the semi-final, there were pictures on the wall of this match so this was motivating and gave us a point to prove. It was noticed, spoke about and gave us motivation before the game.
