OPINION
Wolverhampton Wanderers announced on their official Twitter account on Thursday that midfielder Romain Saiss had signed a new contract with the club until 2021. The team’s fans are clearly delighted with the news, and rightfully so. Saiss isn’t a flashy name or an exciting type of player but he is the sort of man that every good squad needs in their midst. He has a fantastic attitude; he doesn’t mind sitting on the substitutes bench for large periods of games as long as he comes on and makes an impact later on, which he invariably does. He’s not exactly a regular in terms of starts, but he seems to always play a part in matches and he’s been a big factor in the team’s run to the FA Cup quarter finals. Following on from the club’s contract extensions for Conor Coady and Matt Doherty last week, this shows what phenomenal progress Nuno Espirito’s side are making. The players want to stay at Molineux because they can see that something big is happening, and Saiss’s new deal is the latest proof of that.
