OPINION
Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed on their official Twitter account on Friday that defender Conor Coady and wing back Matt Doherty have signed contract extensions with the club until 2023. This is merely the latest good news in what’s been a phenomenally successful season so far for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. For them to tie down two of their best players, including their captain, on long term deals is a huge boost for everyone concerned with the club. These are two players who, after the seasons they’ve had, could easily go and play for a top six side. Instead, though, they are content to remain with Wolves because they see the potential at the club. Wolves are going places and it’s savvy deals like this that are the reason why. Their recruitment in recent years has been tremendous, but they’ve also been able to keep their best players, and this is another example of that.
