Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo would be wise to recall tricky attacker Ivan Cavaleiro for his team’s trip to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday.

The Portugal international stole the show against Bristol City in the FA Cup recently and deserves to be handed a start as a result, with cutting edge needed against a Terriers side who will undoubtedly look to frustrate the visitors at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Cavaleiro’s return to the starting line up means that one player has to drop out of it, and midfielder Leander Dendoncker must make way to accommodate the attacker.

The 6ft 2in Belgian [Source: Transfermarkt] didn’t light the world on fire against Bournemouth on Saturday, and he’s the best candidate to drop out in a tactical switch from Nuno.

Rui Patricio has had a few dodgy moments this season but he has, by and large, been solid between the sticks. He should keep his place ahead of back up John Ruddy.

Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady and Willy Boly are all extremely assured in their positions at the moment and it’s unlikely that any of them will make way here.

The same goes for wing backs Matt Doherty and Jonny Castro Otto, who have excelled this campaign. There is no reason for Nuno to drop either of them on Tuesday.

Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho both had off days by their high standards against the Cherries, but they remain the foremost central midfield partnership for Wolves. Both players should start once again.

A front three, in a slight variation, is required for Wolves if they are to break down this stubborn Huddersfield side. Cavaleiro must partner Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota in attack.
