Leander Dendoncker is a name that Wolves fans would not have been too familiar with at the start of the season, but fast forward to now, and things are a lot different.

The 23-year-old was overlooked by boss Nuno Espirito Santo towards the start of the campaign, and based on his international experience and his spell with Anderlecht previously, it was pretty hard to understand why he kept on being cast aside.

Things could not be more different for Dendoncker now, as he has enjoyed a run in the team that has showcased his talents to the maximum, which would no doubt leave the fans delighted.

One player who would not be so ectstatic is Romain Saiss, who like Dendoncker, operates largely as a defensive midfielder for Wolves – but has been pushed down the pecking order by the young Belgian.

This is no surprise as he has proved in recent matches why Nuno was wrong to leave him out at the start of the season, demonstrating that he is versatile as he is effective at doing his job.

Saiss will certainly be quaking in his boots following the displays from Dendoncker over the past few weeks and he will no doubt be hoping he does not impress yet again if he is picked to face Newcastle on Monday.

Saiss has had a few good games after a poor start to the term, so he will definitely be feeling a bit aggrieved that he has been left out lately – and by the looks of it, it may be for quite a while.

Dendoncker is only going to get better and better the more games he is given, which is not good news for the 28-year-old.

He will be sweating a lot at the moment, as Dendoncker is not showing any signs of slowing down after a series of undroppable displays.
