OPINION

Wolves attacker Adama Traore clearly has the skill set needed to excel in the Premier League but raw potential won’t save him from a summer exit.

The 23-year-old winger has slick tricks, blistering pace and has a knack for getting in the right places at the right time, however his spell at Wolves clearly hasn’t gone to plan.

Traore has only managed one goal and two assists in his 22 outings, and that’s just not good enough for a side like Wolves who are trying to cement themselves in the Premier League.

The attacker clearly has all the potential in the world but it’s time he fulfilled it, but the only issue is he does seem to be on a tight schedule if he sees his career being at Wolves.

There was exit talk surrounding the 23-year-old in January as TEAMtalk  reported on deadline day that the Premier League side may let Traore go if they successfully signed Sardar Azmoun who they saw as a replacement for him.

Luckily for Traore, Wolves didn’t end up signing Azmoun despite agreeing a fee according to Sky Sports, with the attacker instead joining Russian side Zenit St Petersburg as the Premier League club pulled out of a deal.

Yet while Wolves missed out on the Iranian attacker, it doesn’t mean that they’re not plotting an exit for Traore if things don’t change.

If the club were really go to part company with him if a replacement had arrived, then it shows that 23-year-old winger is on thin ice regarding his Wolves career.

Therefore this means that Traore must fulfil his potential as soon as possible, perhaps starting with Saturday’s clash against Everton, as he can’t afford to waste any more opportunities.
