OPINION
Tottenham play host to German side Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League at Wembley on Wednesday night, and many fans are gutted that Danny Rose has been ruled out of the starting XI.
Rose has started three of the last four Premier League games after rotating with Ben Davies before that, but he’s only started one Champions League game this season – the 1-1 draw against Barcelona that won them an unlikely place in the last 16.
Many fans wanted Mauricio Pochettino to give Rose his second Champions League start of the season on Wednesday.
However, Rose is now set for a late fitness test just for a place on the bench, with manager Mauricio Pochettino saying it will be “impossible” for him to start the game.
Ben Davies has also been ruled out and that means that Jan Vertonghen or Kyle Walker-Peters could potentially start at left-back.

Because of a cut on his shin? Are you kidding me!

Or KWP. Would be a classic confidence/trust boosting Poch move to play him in an important game. Depends on the system he wants to go for I guess. Jan looked so good at LB last time out. (In fact if he wasn't so against it, I'd be inclined to swap him and Davies going forward)

Yes we noticed. That's why he was subbed with just minutes to go. Rarely happens with fullbacks without injury/knock reasons. Vertonghen as left back then.

This is getting bloody ridiculous. We now have no left backs.

Hope nothing serious. Vertonghen as LB not bad though
