Tottenham fans have got used to the fact that they’re not a big buying club at the moment, so they were left surprised by the latest transfer update from Tuttosport, which claims Spurs will complete a deal for Ivan Perisic.
The Italian outlet, via Sport Witness, has claimed that Tottenham will sign the Croatian winger in the summer, with the player keen to move to the Premier League.
It is claimed that the 30-year-old attacker wants a move to Tottenham over their rivals Arsenal and will complete his transfer at the end of the season.
Most Spurs fans would take Perisic judging by the reactions on Twitter but many say they won’t believe it until it happens – despite the relative certainty claimed in the report, which claims that the player is “betrothed” to Tottenham.
One fan said that his club should sell Erik Lamela and “buy this guy” with another saying “If this is true it will be a great signing”. However, he also said he wouldn’t hold his breath “because it’s us” – and after the last two transfer windows you wouldn’t blame him.
