COMMENTARY
Wednesday was not a night any Tottenham fan nor player will want to remember for too long – losing to London rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge – but it seems as though one man who can come away with some pride is Moussa Sissoko. The Frenchman still might not be everyone’s cup of tea in north London despite establishing himself as a regular in the first team under Mauricio Pochettino but one thing that cannot be questioned is his work ethic. He often does the running of two men and he was the shining light in a forgettable performance from most of his teammates. He will not be happy with the result – no one at Tottenham will – and so his impressive display will count for very little in the long run, but it demonstrates what an outstanding job he has done of rescuing his career at the club. Once slammed by the fans, he is now heralded as the only man worth mentioning. Quite the turnaround.
This is Futbol has gathered a selection of the supporters’ tweets:
How on earth has Mousa Sissoko gone from our worst signing ever to our best player tonight by a mile? Even Kane has done nothing tonight. Eriksen was poor, Lamela ???? Not good from us last 2 games. Goal now? Achieve top 4, win the CL #COYS #THFC
