Many Tottenham fans appeared to view Schalke’s clash with Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday and many focused on the performance of Nabli Bentaleb. The 24-year-old scored twice, both penalties, in order to nearly cause Man City a surprise in the Champions League and it seem Spurs fans in particular were impressed. Man City may have defeated Schalke 3-2, but that didn’t stop Spurs fans heap praising on Bentaleb after he wowed against their club’s Premier League rivals. The midfield enforcer had one Spurs fan compliment how calm he was under pressure, while a couple were urging Mauricio Pochettino to go acquire his services. Bentaleb played for Spurs 66 times after rising through the ranks of the club’s youth system, but left to join Schalke in 2017. While the midfield enforcer never particularly filled his potential at Spurs, and has done much better since leaving, it seems after witnessing him excel for Man City, some Spurs fans are willing to welcome the ex-player back with open arms. While it’s easy to see why they were impressed, Bentaleb doesn’t seem like the answer.
