OPINION
Harry Winks broke through into the senior team in the 16/17 season and we thought that 17/18 was going to be his season. Unfortunately, he spent the second-half of the season out injured and it threatened to derail his career. He didn’t get back in the first-team straight away, but he’s now a Pochettino regular and he looks better and better all the time. The fans love him as “one of our own” and the funny thing is he’s still seen as a youngster despite being 23-years-old. That’s likely as much to do with his injury as anything else and Winks has proved that he’s a star for the long-term at Tottenham. The praise from Ardiles is thoroughly justified and he’s right that he’s learning quickly. It helps that he’s got a fantastic teacher in Mauricio Pochettino, of course. We’re expecting Winks to start tomorrow night against Borussia Dortmund – which will be his fifth Champions League start of the season.
