Alan Sugar boldly claimed that referee Michael Oliver was playing for Leicester City during Tottenham’s 3-1 win over the Foxes on Sunday.

The businessman and known supporter of Spurs sent several tweets via his official Twitter account to voice his displeasure over decisions made by the referee during Tottenham’s win over Leicester.

Aside from boldly claiming Oliver was on the side of the Foxes, he sarcastically celebrated a free-kick being awarded to his side and claimed Claude Puel’s side were wrongly awarded a penalty.

OPINION

Spurs may have secured a much-needed 3-1 win to stay in the race for the Premier League title, but even that didn’t seem to soften Sugar’s mood. The businessman clearly felt his side weren’t getting the decisions in their favour and made it clear that Oliver wasn’t getting his calls right on Sunday in his opinion. Spurs attacker Heung-Min Son did appear to be wrongly booked for diving when brought down in the box and you feel that’s why Sugar’s disapproval of the referee stems from. Also Sugar doesn’t seem to agree with the decision that saw Leicester City awarded  a penalty, however given that Jamie Vardy’s effort from the spot ended up being splendidly saved by Hugo Lloris, then in his opinion justice should have been suffered. While a 3-1 scoreline flattered Spurs as Leicester City did have plenty of chances to score, at least they got three points on the board.
