Miguel Almiron’s debut for Newcastle United must be on of the most eagerly anticipated bows in recent memory for the Magpies.

The Paraguayan has been drafted in for a handsome fee this winter with the sole purpose of sparking some kind of creativity in the Toon frontline and firing them away from the relegation zone.

So far this season, the only reliable source of goals that Rafa Benitez’s side has had has been on-loan West Brom man Salomon Rondon, and his influence could prove to be the key to getting the best out of his fellow South American.

The two were pictured in high spirits together at United’s training ground during the Venezuelan’s takeover of 433’s Instagram account, and Newcastle fans will be hoping that it signifies the start of a close and profitable partnership in black and white.

Much has been made of how long it could take Almiron to adapt to life in the Premier League, especially given cultural and a language barrier, but having an experienced head like Rondon, who himself speaks Spanish and English, could be a really great first step towards him settling in on Tyneside.

The most important thing for a new signing is for them to feel comfortable off the pitch so that they can thrive on it, and if the striker can take his new teammate under his wing and build a good understanding with him quickly, the Toon Army could find themselves with a genuinely lethal duo on their hands.
