Newcastle are enjoying their FA Cup break with warm-weather training in Spain and had the chance of a run-out against quality opposition today with a friendly against CSKA Moscow.

They enjoyed the best of the early stages of the game and took the lead through Salomon Rondon after a great move, but fans were fuming at the display from Chelsea loanee Kenedy.

He’s not impressed this season at all and got off to the worst start possible in the game, not releasing the ball when a pass was on and then blazing a shot so high over the bar it caused the supporters to burst out laughing.

Newcastle fans on Twitter didn’t find it so amusing, from a player that Chelsea reportedly want £30million for. A permanent move doesn’t seem at all likely after his performances this season and it’s a real shame for a player who showed so much promise when he started his career at St James’ Park.

The 23-year-old has only scored once and added one assist in 20 Premier League appearances this season, and if you were watching the game today you’d see why.

He had to apologise to Rondon again in the first-half after not passing and trying another shot from long range that didn’t trouble the goal.

Even Rafa Benitez seemed annoyed, jumping to his feet and whispering something to his staff after another Kenedy blunder.

One fan asked “What is up with the lad?” and that seems to sum up the feeling at Newcastle at the moment.

The final score was 1-1 after Abel Hernandez equalised just before half-time.
