COMMENTARY
Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie tweeted a picture of Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka collecting the North East Football Writers Player of the Year award via his verified account and saw his tweet hijacked by some Sunderland fans. It seems supporters of the Magpies’ local rivals were in the mood to troll Dubravka and make jokes regarding the recent errors he had made between the sticks. One Sunderland fan posted a gif of actress Jennifer Lawrence laughing and spitting out her tea to show how they felt about Dubravka getting the award, and quickly saw three Newcastle United fans respond to defend the shot-stopper. One Magpies fan urged others to just leave the Sunderland fans who attempted to troll Dubravka crying in League One as the end of the day the Serbian goalkeeper was a Premier League player. Several other exchanges between Sunderland and Magpies supporters took place, and it just show you how the rivalry between the two clubs is alive and kicking, despite them being separated by an entire league now.
