COMMENTARY
Many West Ham fans were blown away by the performance of defender Ryan Fredericks against Crystal Palace on Saturday during the 1-1 draw with them, with one even claiming he was like a new signing. The 26-year-old struggled in his opening outings for the Hammers this season after joining from Fulham and you wondered if he was going to need time to get up the standard of the Premier League. Fredericks was dealt a cruel blow as injury ruled him out a number of months and he kind of became the forgotten man as a result. However since returning to Manuel Pellegrini’s first-team plans as of late, Fredericks has looked determined to impress. The speedy right-back wowed against Liverpool and the Hammers manager rightly opted to keep the speedster in his starting line-up for Palace. It looked to be the right decision as just like below described, Fredericks did have a super game and didn’t look out of place by any account, though he does need to work on learning the offside rule.
