Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves is wanted by Manchester United after sending scouts to keep tabs on his progress this season, according to the Express.

The newspaper reports on their website that United are wanting Wolves to lower the £100 million of the 21-year-old ace, who they paid £15.8 million for when they signed him from Porto in 2017.

The report adds that the Premier League giants have been sending scouts out to watch him in action and keep track of his progress all season, however, they will only swoop if Wolves lower their current price tag.

Good move for Wolves?

No, absolutely not. It is no surprise that Neves has attracted attention from one of the Premier League’s top-six but they cannot sell to them under any circumstances. He is arguably one of their best players, and you could say that their midfield would start to struggle without him there. Neves is invaluable to Wolves and has been a large part of their success this term, so they try to keep him at all costs.

Likely to happen?

Manchester United are unlikely to make a solid move for Neves if Wolves do not budge on the £100 million valuation of their player. If they remain stubborn then a move will definitely not be on the cards – if they do budge, then they are essentially willing to cash in on one of their star assets. The likelihood of this happening is very slim, so it looks like Neves will not be going anywhere, much to the fans’ delight.
