OPINION
Liverpool recently published their latest set of financial accounts for the year ending 31 May 2018. To say they were glowing is something of an understatement. The club announced a world-record post tax profit of £106million as turnover increased in the 12 months to May 2018 by £90million to £455million, also a record. Sunday Times football correspondent Jonathan Northcroft analysed the accounts and was hugely impressed, pointing out how shrewd player trading underpinning the incredible numbers. So much credit, claims Northcroft on his personal Twitter account, must go to director of football Michael Edwards, claiming a “statue” of him would be fully justified.
Just read yesterday's Liverpool accounts.
Confirm how, from 1/6/16 to 31/5/18, buying Mane, Salah, VVD, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Ox was funded by sales of Coutinho, Sakho, Benteke, Ibe, Wisdom, Allen,Stewart, Lucas, Ilori etc
How's the Michael Edwards statue coming along?

Liverpool supporters could not agree more with the journalist, pointing out how the recruitment has been transformed by the man responsible for not only for a series of outstanding, good value purchases – from Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah at the front to Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson at the back – but also through getting top dollar for those who have left, not only Philippe Coutinho but those who were not in the first team.

It's unbelievable how we've turned our squad around. World class 11 and a very good squad and turning a profit.

If he could shift Moreno, Lovren and Origi for Koulibaly I think he could start a new religion #Edwardanity

He traded Stewart for Robertson. That deal alone justifies a golden statue and a street with his name.

Statue will be commissioned as soon as Moreno follows the other liabilities out the door..
