Everton need someone to come in and turn things around at the club, because whatever Marco Silva is doing at the moment, it clearly is not working.

The Toffees have suffered successive defeats recently, the latest one being a 1-0 loss to Watford on Saturday – however, if he continues to stick with the exact same starting XI as he always does, then what does he expect?

Granted, Everton did not sign anyone in the January transfer window, but that is no excuse, as Silva has plenty of players on the bench he could use – and one of those players is Bernard.

The 26-year-old has been relegated to the role of a substitute in the last couple of matches, and it is baffling why Silva has not been starting him, because he ends up bringing him on when they are losing anyway.

He brought Bernard on in the 66th minute against the Hornets, and while he was not able to contribute to the scoreline in anyway, the difference he made when he was introduced was as bright as day.

His excellent cross from the left-wing deserved a lot more from Cenk Tosun than it did, and the energy he injected was no doubt a welcome sight for the Everton supporters.

So why doe Silva not start him more often? His stance towards him is baffling and it is evident that starting the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson is not working, so it should be a no-brainer really.

The Brazilian is a player who can help lift Everton out of the trouble that they are currently in, and the faster Silva recognises this, the better.

The manager can get the supporters jumping for joy again if he makes a swift U-turn on his stance towards the left-sided flyer, because at the moment, the fans do not have much to smile about.
