Many Everton fans will sweat over the fact that the Daily Mail reported that attacker Richarlison was a possible contender to replace Eden Hazard at Chelsea in the summer.

The Daily Mail reported on Wednesday that the Blues had earmarked a few players ahead of the summer window opening as they were bracing themselves for the probable exit of Hazard to Real Madrid.

The newspaper claimed that Lorenzo Insigne could be an option, but Napoli’s £140m valuation of him was a problem, as well as Toffees attacker Richarlison and Sevilla’s Pablo Sarabia.

The Daily Mail claimed that Chelsea had been following Richarlison closely and have been monitoring his process, with them nearly opting to pursue his services ahead of him joining Watford.

Given that Chelsea will go all out in a pursuit to replace Hazard, who earns £200,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac), if he does exit the Toffees fans will fear their team will struggle to hold on to the Brazilian attacker.

As aside from the London club being able to pour cash into a potential pursuit of Richarlison as Hazard will likely be sold for a big figure, the player himself will no doubt be tempted to join a Premier League side competing at the top end of the table as well as for trophies.

Richarlison has been impressive for the Toffees at times this season, shown by the fact he has scored 11 goals in 26 outings, and even if his recent form has dipped, supporters won’t want to lose him.

This is especially the case when you consider the winger is only 21-years-old and Toffees fans will know that he is only set to get better if anything.

Therefore when you consider the Daily Mail don’t describe there being any hurdles to the idea of Chelsea wanting to replace Hazard with Richarlison, Toffees fans will sweat that a move for him could develop in the summer.
