COMMENTARY
Many Everton fans found a reason to be cheery on social media despite their side losing to Manchester City 2-0 on Wednesday night. While some Toffees supporters may have focused on the fact their lost to Man City meant archrivals Liverpool were no longer top of the Premier League, others poured their attention into praising defender Jonjoe Kenny for his display. One claimed that the 21-year-old should be starting every week as it was time to trust the youngster while one claimed that the full-back delivered a proper Toffees performance as it was full of passion and commitment. It’ll be interesting to see if Kenny is given a run in the first-team by Marco Silva as a result due to the fact he did look superb against Manchester City, which is no easy feat. The 21-year-old ahead of facing Man City had only played seven times in the Premier League this season and it’s fair to say he warrants more opportunities from now on.

Very happy with some performances tonight – they’ve set a standard now which I expect to see for every remaining game. Davies and Kenny especially decent tonight

The younger Everton players were outstanding tonight. Tom Davies led by example as captain, caused City problems all night. Jonjoe Kenny superb again, love his attitude + commitment. Makes such a difference when the crowd get behind the team. #EFC
