Everton are suffering from a bit of a slump in recent times, with their latest disappointment coming in the shape of the 1-0 defeat to Watford a few weeks ago.

The Toffees need to get some more points on the board and boss Marco Silva will be hoping that his side can achieve this with a win away at Cardiff on Tuesday night.

This is the perfect opportunity to get back to winning ways, and in order to do so, Silva will need to make three changes to the side that lost to the Hornets a few weeks back.

In goal, Jordan Pickford must start as normal.

The first change must come in the defence, a change that is more enforced than anything. Kurt Zouma got sent off after receiving a second yellow card in that game so he will be suspended for this match, and with Yerry Mina and Phil Jagielka injured, Silva will have to think outside of the box.

Right-back Jonjoe Kenny is able to play at centre-back too, so he must play alongside Michael Keane for this fixture, a change which means that Seamus Coleman must come in at right-back in his place.

The midfield consisting of Idrissa Gueye and Andre Gomes performed to a good standard so they must not be dropped, while Ben Davies also had a decent outing alongside Richarlison.

However, mainstay Gylfi Sigurdsson – who has 30 appearances this season – was woeful against Watford, which is another bad performance to add to his list. In his place should come Bernard, a change which means that himself and Richarlison must switch wings.

It remains to be seen why Silva opts to play Cenk Tosun up front, as he was abysmal and highly ineffective against Watford. Dominic Calvert-Lewin must lead the line for this game if the Toffees face any chances of scoring.

If Silva makes the right calls regarding his starting XI on Tuesday, then there is no doubt that his team would be able to blitz past Cardiff with ease.
