Ever since Romelu Lukaku left Everton, they have been attempting – and failing – to bring in someone who could potentially replace him.

The likes of Cenk Tosun have been signed in recent times but to no avail, and Marco Silva’s attempts to fix their striker issue by playing Richarlison up front has hardly worked either.

According to the Mirror, Manchester United are set to sell Lukaku in order to fund moves for both Paulo Dybala and Mauro Icardi, and this is a situation that the Toffees must pounce upon in the summer.

Plenty of the Everton fans would go wild at the prospect of the Belgian international returning to Goodison Park, as there is no doubt that he was one of the best strikers to have set foot there.

He is clearly falling out of favour at Old Trafford if they are willing to sell him at the end of the season, so what better time to swoop for him than the summer.

The Toffees desperately need to fix their crisis up front as it clearly is not working for them at the moment, and the addition of Lukaku would surely propel them to new heights in the Premier League.

It is baffling why United want to get rid of him, but the fact that he has only scored nine goals this season might be a little bit to do with it, but that is something that should not faze Everton in the slightest.

The know he has the capabilities to remain being an excellent striker, and perhaps playing at a team where there is less pressure on success would bring the best out of him once again.

Everton would no doubt have to break the bank in order to re-sign him, but this is too good an opportunity to miss – so they must grasp it in the summer.
