Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley certainly didn’t have the finest of afternoons in his team’s demolition as the hands of Manchester City on Sunday. Make no mistake, no one shined in a dark blue shirt at the Etihad Stadium, but Barkley was among the worst offenders. His selection in and of itself was slightly strange, and he proved to have no idea of how to stop this rampant City team. He just didn’t do anything for his entire time on the pitch – he genuinely contributed nothing to the game. There was a time, at the start of the season, where it seemed as if the former Everton man was back to his best, but that feeling has been erased over the past few months. He has so much talent but he’s far too inconsistent, and he doesn’t seem to turn up in the big games. That was the case once again on Sunday, as he laboured through a woeful performance until he was mercifully replaced by Mateo Kovacic early in the second half.

Really been holding my tongue re Sarri. Want to give him time. Didn’t expect us to win PL but didn’t expect CFC to devolve into this. Toothless, slow, sloppy, soft, scared, etc. Alonso, a debacle, Barkley dreadful. Entire squad crumbled. Again. Some showed up, some quit.

Sarri needs to take off Barkley and Alonso, they dont deserve to wear Chelsea blue…Barkley wearing the number 8 jersey is an absolute disgrace to Legends that have worn that shirt…Sarri is the manager and he gets to choose the team…Play the right players
