Tottenham are very keen on signing Hull City sensation Jarrod Bowen this summer, according to Football London.

The Reach site claim scouts from the Premier League club have held recent transfer missions to assess the merits of the 22-year-old taking the Championship by storm.

Football London report Spurs are one of a number of clubs in hot pursuit of Bowen, who could leave the Yorkshire side at the end of the season.

Good move for Spurs?

Bowen is unlikely to be pushing Son Heung-Min and Lucas Moura for a starting spot in Mauricio Pochettino’s side but he has immense potential and his extended purple patch for Hull shows why the Londoners and others are watching him closely. Bowen has scored 12 league goals in his last 13 matches and 16 from 32 Championship fixtures this season, an outstanding return for a wide forward. His profile – young, English, talented and bursting with promise – fits with the Tottenham recruitment strategy. The Londoners aren’t mega transfer spenders but they are certainly in the market for rough diamonds, and especially English ones, as they look to increase their home-grown players quota.

Likely to happen?

Much depends upon the price. Spurs can certainly afford the £20million-plus fee Hull would seek for their prize asset. But they would probably baulk at paying such a fee for a player yet to play in the Premier League. A heavily incentivised deal, perhaps with performance-related add-ons, would probably work well for the club.
